KOH - Food this time

Apr 30th, 2008 | By HAL | Category: Restaurants

After sampling the liquid delights of KOH in the Millenium walkway, it was high time I scoffed some of their food. For review purposes only, you understand.

Now first of all I have to say I know nothing about Thai food. I like it and all, but wouldn’t a connoisseur by a long way.

The menu in KOH is delish (see here http://www.koh.ie/menu.pdf)

For starters, I had the chicken wings. I’m not a fan of chicken wings as I think they can be a tad on the stodgey, MSG side. These were the other side of the chicken wing rainbow! YUM! Not at all soggy or stodgey…just perfect.

My partner had the Miso soup which she thought was just ok but I thought was gorgeous. Loads of flavour and looked great too. I’ll be getting that next time.

For my main I went for Chicken Pad Thai. For those of you who have no idea what it is, it’s yaka soba with peanuts, basically. Yum, yum, yum. The veggies were crisp and tasty and the chicken actually tasted of chicken not just that generic ‘white meat’ taste that sometimes passes as chicken.

The little lady wasn’t happy with her Tofu Pad Thai. Not that it wasn’t good, it was. It’s just that they had tofu-everyting, and any meat curry but no curry tofu. She’s been looking forward to a good Thai curry but to no avail.

I think this is a bad oversight so I’m going to mail the restaurant and see what they say. Will keep you updated.

The service overall was fantastic, attentive but not rushed and the decor just gorgeous.

Five word review - better be curry next time
