is it just me or do radio presenters seem to be high on crack in the morning? Seriously, who goes to work at 6 and shouts manically about shite for 3 hours and could continue without sniffing something? Not that I in anyway encourage or endorse the use of illegal substances, you understand.

So, to avoid the totally inane chatter and useless prize offers, I’ve been seeking out something else. Something more civil if you will.

My search began on Lyric, which is always wonderful. However, I need something to wake me up slowly not soothe me back to sleep (always a dangerous thing while driving).

And lo, it came to pass that Sinister Pete was born. Phantom 105, how I love thee.

Yesterday, for example, there I was driving to work and The Smiths come on, followed by The Cure and , just to prove that there is still some excellent music around, Republic of Loose, The Ting Tings and some fab song with the wonderful line “there’s no I in threesome”. Heaven!!!

Anyone who can have me singing at 9 in the am, is a genius.
