Karadzic Arrested

The former Bosnian Serb, Radovan Karadzic was arrested near Belgrade yesterday. He is accused of war crimes and genocide during his countries war from 1992-5. Karadzic was working as a doctor of alternative medicine when he was taken into custody. It is reported that he had long hair, glasses and a beard, presumably to hide his identity.
Serbian officials have said that they will not reveal the details of his arrest as they are still looking for other war criminals who are on the run and they don’t want to put that operation at risk.
Mr Karadzic is accused of organising the 43-month siege of Sarajevo which claimed 12,000 lives as well as the massacring of 8,000 Muslims in Srebrenica during 1995.
