Mamma Mia

Earlier this year my friend and I travelled to Belfast to see Mamma Mia in the Odyssey. It was amazing. We both loved it and sang ABBA all the way home. Sortly afterwards I heard that it was made into a film and must admit I wondered if they could pull it off. The atmosphere in the Odyssey was electric and I was curious to see how that could be replicated in a cinema.
I’m delighted to say they did a great job. I went with a group of friends to see the film tonight and we all loved it. I can’t remember the last time the end of a film I was at was met with applause, this one was and deservidly so.
The cast were great, not all gifted singers to say the least but they really got into it and created a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Meryl Streep is always brilliant and Julie Walters is really great, she just has amazing comedic timing and is also one of the few actors who can do physical comedy to perfection.
I think I’ll be singing ABBA for a while but then who cares, they’re brill and all of there songs are worth singing. I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys ABBA, I think I may just have to see it again!!!!
