Séamus Brennan dies aged 60

Jul 9th, 2008 | By Gooner | Category: Current Affairs

I remember Séamus Brennan as Minister for Transport but he was also Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism, Minister for Education and Minister of State as well as a host of other positions during his long career in Irish politics. It seems he died at home in Churchtown this morning after a short illness. Many TDs paid tribute to him at this morning’s Dáil sitting.

I read this morning that when the PDs were founded he almost joined them but backed out at the last minute. He seems to have had a varied career and I’m sure he’ll be missed.

R.I.P.
