A Suppa Earl Gae
We had thought the week would end on a quiet note for the LGBT community from a news perspective after all the celebrations regarding Sweden, Iowa and Vermont approving gay marriage. Well think again. From P!nk breaking lesbian hearts all over again to a 16 year old transexual model, and rounding it off with the continuing are-they aren’t-they who-cares breakup of Samantha Ronson and Lindsey Lohan.
Let’s start with P!nk as we know one of our gaelickers is a big fan of hers, Annie-Aura look away now, coz she’s off the market – again. According to The Sun, and what’s not to believe from that ‘wonderful’ red top, Pink has a rethink over ex.
Whatever you feel about the tabloids, you have to give them credit with some ‘interesting’ headlines.
POP star PINK’s ex-husband CAREY HART yesterday told The Sun they are giving their relationship a second chance.
As if anything could be more important to out community than that, there were some serious stories out there. Panel to examine same-sex domestic violence
For those who have become victims of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender domestic violence, it may seem as though getting help is out of reach, but it’s not.
Melissa Caldwell, a graduate student in the College of Social Work, has organized the LGBT Domestic Violence Panel, which will be held on Thursday. Caldwell will speak with Austin Matthews, an Eastern Kentucky University assistant professor, who has done research on intimate partner violence.
It is something which is not studied or talked about enough, I feel, within the community.
Meet Kim Petra, thanks to the wonderful sugarandmedicine blog, I have read all about her and what a positive role model she must be for transsexuals the world over. Read all about her over there and check out the rest of the fab blog.
The original article in the Spiegel can also be found at the above post and I had to point this out purely because I do not know how to take this quote.
They’ve learned that transsexuality has nothing to do with homosexuality. It’s not about feather boas and red-light districts so much as identity. Transsexuals aren’t “queer birds” — they want the perfectly normal life of the opposite sex. And some will submit to radical methods, from hormones to surgery, to conform their bodies to the “right” gender.

WTF?
Moving on to Cambodia where the First Cambodian lesbian film is a hit. If we head back to 2007, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen publicly announced that he was disowning his adopted daughter because she was a lesbian. It’s progress, however slight.
One step forward, 2 steps back. Milk movie banned in Samoa
From Cambodia lesbians, to Samoan gays all the way over the Australia and our favourite lesbian couple down under, Charlie and Joey. According to a few newspapers, Second lesbian kiss in Summer Bay will happen despite those poor families wondering what will happen to their kids when they start asking uncomfortable questions like “Mummy why is the cop kissing that woman?”, or “Daddy, when I grow up I want to be a lesbian deckhand just like Joey and make out with hot women in uniform”. Being a parent must be tough at times, trying to explain that, whilst this ‘gay thing’ may be portrayed as ‘normal’ and Joey and Charlie may look like ‘normal’ women, they are in face the devil incarnate.
Esther Anderson talks lesbian kissing on Home and Away
It’s an interesting development for Home and Away.
It’s amazing that it’s still such a taboo subject in this day and age because it’s everywhere. The gay population is growing. To me there’s no difference — love’s love. The fact that your partner’s the same sex is no different. The only difference is all that stigma society attaches to it.
The storyline explores all those issues of discrimination and stigma but it also shows it’s a beautiful love story like any other romance on the show.
Any excuse for a woman in uniform, here on the left we have Esther Anderson aka Charlie in her homosexual recruiting uniform, sorry her cop uniform (the 2 uniforms look so similar it’s hard to tell them apart) standing next to what we all know is a well known lesbian prop – the pool table. I mean, it practically screams “Come join me and play!”. Well perhaps that’s just me
Poor Lindsay Lohan…
Lindsay: My romance with Sam not over
The ”Mean Girls” actress reportedly split from her DJ girlfriend last week, but now she has come out and defended her relationship with her lesbian lover.
Asked how she was coping without Samantha, Lindsay replied: “You guys make it seem like it’s so over, but it’s not. People take breaks. It’s OK. It’s normal, they focus on themselves.”
Awash with Egyptian river water is our Linds.
As this is Easter week, the last word must go to the poor persecuted Christians and Fark. Whilst Fark usually has stories submitted by pre-pubesecent teenage boys, this made me laugh
Christians complain they are being persecuted for not being allowed to persecute homosexuals
