Kissing Down Under

It’s finally here! The kiss that will destroy Austral Asia! Please everyone keep praying as the country’s morality dissolves around you. For we all know the mighty power of the lesbian kiss.

Hands were wringing and handkerchiefs twisting as Home and Away televised a kiss between two women a couple of weeks ago. Due to screening agreements, The Kiss has arrived on our screens this week. Don’t miss it, but don’t be too disappointed either. Talk about tame….

Despite all of the cliches around the burgeoning relationship, you have to take your hat (or other clothing) off to the Home and Away folks. The story is realistic, the emotions understandable and they’ve taken their time with it, allowing us to get to know the characters.

Ok, let’s get the cliches out of the way:

1.  Joey and Charlie are the ladies’ name. Where are all the Sheila’s?

2.  One is raped

3.  Jobs – deck-hand and cop

Us lesbos are used to our cliches so this is water off a duck’s back, as the story is great and, most importantly, the actresses are excellent.

charlie

So, the story is, Joey the deck-hand is an out lesbian who gets raped by the dastardly Robbo. Cop Charlie comes to the rescue and two become mates, mate. Joey ends up falling for Charlie, which is extremely understandable, check her out (right)!

Charlie does the old lesbian two-step “kiss me ya sexy woman; sorry I’m confused, let’s be friends”.

At the moment they’ve kissed, and Charlie is going all well of loneliness on her ass, but things will get better. How do I know? Well there has been uproar down under (f’narr) about the two or three kisses between the ladies. So more lip-smacking to come. YAY!!

If you missed it this afternoon, the first kiss will be screened at 6.00 on RTE 2 this evening, April 15.

  • Strewth, here it is! The uproar over this is hilarious, sure didn’t they have a similar storyline with Shannon years ago? Although they did have to ship her off to Paris afterwards.

  • [...] ghost,  the Charlie and Joey storyline has finally come to fruition, with a double-lady kiss.   Gaelick have a good summary.  Wait till Colleen gets a load of this, she’ll leave holes in the roof [...]

  • Shannon!! That was her name, thanks Alisa that was bugging me :)

I think the uproar this time is due to the poopularity of the Charlie character. I dunno but I think some of the viewers are feeling like they were duped.

“We loiked her and thin loike, she tuhned loike totally goy!”

    or something…..

    pmsl!

Oh yeah – jebus, that takes me back.. Isla Fisher, wasn’t it? I remember that, and innocently thinking, “Suddenly, Home & Away is very, very interesting to me. ..I wonder why that could be..?”

And then, as you say, they disappeared her. Twas fun while it lasted. But clearly the ghost of Shannon remains in Summer Bay – Isla’s disappearance has been avenged, hooray!

    : )
