Can anyone clear this up? What’s with all the velvet hearts in East Wall?
There are lovely hearts on every tree trunk but I’ve no idea why.
Is it an art in the streets type thing? Is it some romantic asking their love to civilly partner them? Is it the code for an alien revolution?

My theory is – they’re planning on cutting these trees down due to this – http://www.sineadcochrane.com/2009/02/05/spotted-bustop/ a few months ago, thus the hearts are like a protest against it.
Oh I hope that’s not it, Sinéad. I have a feeling you could be on the money, but it would be terrible if they chopped them for revolting against the buses.
The hearts a gorgeous; beautifully mande and with godl studs attaching them to the trees. So someone has gone to a lot of trouble.
if it’s because of that flippin bus, I hope their dedication pays off
