Over to the US where we all spewed our tea all over the keyboard with the news that Adam Lambert tells Rolling Stone he’s gay. Well perhaps spew is a strong word, a light cough? A tickle in the back of the throat?

Lambert tells the mag, “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me … I was worried that (coming out) would be so sensationalized that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing.

Bless his wee cottens. As if we care what he sounds like.

I knew it was too good to be true, just yesterday the BBC reported from China with the following Shanghai to show pride with gay festival

A week-long gay pride festival gets under way in Shanghai this weekend, the first time the city has held an event like it.

and then today from the BBC China bans parts of gay festival . They giveth and they taketh away.

Officials have warned the owners of two venues planning to hold a play and a film screening they would face “severe consequences” if they went ahead.

I know, given the fact that its China, we should hardly be suprised but, based on yesterday’s article, I naively thought maybe things are changing. Ever so slightly.

Back to England and this headling grabbed my attention from ThisisLondon Fertility clinics to recruit more lesbians as egg donors for IVF Whilst I normally avoid reading the comments this comment on the above article gave me a giggle:

Wild guess here – lesbians only have difficulty reproducing because they prefer not to do so with men. Fair enough -
but that means their plumbing is more likely to be in as good a working order as any other woman.
Heterosexual women who go for IVF are likely to be doing so, I would humbly suggest, because their plumbing (or that of their spouses) ISN’T working to specs.

Those Americans and their crazeee logic. America to gays: Fight our wars, don’t get married

Whatever happened to Make Love not War? Oh, it’s make lovely hetrosexual love, not war and if there is war let the gays fight whilst we make love. Lots of love straight, normal love. * rolls eyes *

The clear majority of Americans, roughly 69 percent, believe we should reverse the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy for gays in the military, despite the Supreme Court’s decision to reject a challenge to it Monday. Most Americans believe gay folks should be able to fight and die for our country like anyone else.
People are offering this new statistic up as some evolution of American enlightenment. But when you consider that less than half believe gays should be allowed to marry,
it strikes me as hypocrisy more than anything else.
