Young actress Brittany Murphy who gained fame for her roles in movies such as “8 Mile” and “Just Married” has died at the age of 32 following a cardiac arrest at her home.

Murphy passed away on Sunday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.  The County coroner’s office has said that her death appears to be from natural causes, however, the police are going to investigate.  It appears that Murphy collapsed in her bathroom.  An autopsy is planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Murphy’s publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement:

“In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”

Murphy was married to British screenwriter Simon Monjack who is said to be “dazed”.  Her ex Ashton Kutcher has twitted:

“2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon, see you on the other side kid.”

This reminds me of when we lost Heath Ledger, it just seems like it can’t be true, that someone so young can be lost so quickly.  Our condolences go to all those who loved her.
