Dublin Goes GaGa
This Saturday and Sunday (the 20th and 21st of February), the O2 Dublin will be playing host to the current queen of pop, Lady Gaga, as part of her global Monster Ball tour. Over the past 12 months, Lady Gaga has brought us some of the biggest floor-fillers of recent times, including Poker Face, Just Dance, Love Game and most recently, Bad Romance (which everyone seems to love to dance like Lady GaGa to, albeit very badly).
Hot on the heels of her second album, The Fame Monster, she has embarked on this, her second, global tour and Dublin was lucky enough to get two dates in the O2. The tickets sold out incredibly quickly, and are now some of the hottest tickets in town, what with everyone trying to get their hands on some. Thankfully, I already have mine and I can’t wait!
For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to get tickets, Dublin truly is going GaGa this weekend.
WAR on Friday is themed “WAR worships GAGA”. The description for this event is as follows and should tell you all you need to know about it.
Finally. The Queen is here. And get ready to worship her at the altar of WAR, her official church. We are going GAGA mental this Friday… Lightning stripes for the boys and girls… We want you dressed MENTAL in a bigger than Halloween kinda way. So think big hair, skimpy swimsuits, bows, Cher, lame, shoulders mirror balls. Monster heaven! GaGa sing-a-long to paparazzi and bad romance, whilst a gaggle of attractive gays flounce around the window….Best Lady GAGA look- a-like gets residence on the speakers….
I dunno about you, but I am so there!!

I think she’s slowly winning me over. Did I just say that?!
She writes a cracking and catchy pop tune, that’s for sure. But the persona, the whole phenomenon of the Lady GaGa character, leaves me feeling pretty unmoved. I know a ton of folks who were disappointed that they didn’t get to go along tonight but there seems to be swathes of after-show stuff going on.
Just back from the gig now, it was AMAZING!!
Off I go to the george for the Monster Ball!
