Limerick Open Day!

Gina Molloy, Chairperson of Rainbow Support Services, Limerick, has been in touch to tell us about their upcoming Open Day (this Saturday, 24th April 2010).

Rainbow Support Services are holding the Open Day as RSS has recently moved premises, and would like to invite the community in to have a look around and find out what it is exactly that we do and how they do it.

Rainbow Support Services is a not-for-profit organisation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans individuals, their family and friends in the Limerick and Mid-Western Region. The service offer several groups: women’s, men’s, youths, trans and a drop-in. Rainbow Support also operates a help line that covers the LGBT community, and which also helps individuals with their issues of coming out.

There is also on offer one-to-one support, counselling, and an outreach program that enables those living outside of Limerick City or those who aren’t out, or who can’t reach us for one reason or another, to contact Rainbow Support Services and meet with their of our trained staff.

Rainbow Support has been in Limerick for over 20 years and started off as the Gay Switchboard, it has grown over the years and moved premises twice now. The latest move has been in order to keep costs down, so that RSS can keep offering the services that they do. It is hoped that this Open Day will give everyone a chance to see the new premises and get a chance to learn a bit more about the service we offer.

During the Open Day, Rainbow Support will have information on our various groups and activities and our outreach programs.
