Tour dates and fan club travel packages have just been announced for London, Amsterdam and Berlin for the end of June. Melissa Etheridge will rock out in London twice, in fact, — once at her own concert in Shepherd’s Bush and once at the Hard Rock Calling rock festival in Hyde Park.
Her new album, Fearless Love, will be available on the 27th of this month and is being lauded as Etheridge’s return to rock, after some far softer sounding releases in recent years.
Two of her videos are available already on You Tube and the title track, Fearless Love, is available for download on iTunes.
Nervous (I’m finding Nervous totally addictive, despite the intro which sounds uncomfortably like Shania Twain)
Title Track: Fearless Love
Her concert dates are:
June 26: Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, London UK
June 27: Paradiso in Amsterdam Holland
June 29: O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London UK
June 30: Astra Kulturhaus in Berlin Germany
Melissa’s Fan Club (Melissa Etheridge Information Network) are also arranging travel packages where you actually get a chance to meet Melissa herself. They are not cheap (this year the hotel in London is the official hotel for the Royal Albert Hall), but those who go always say it’s worth it… and prove it by going again and again.
I have never been flush enough to take advantage, but I have seen Melissa in concert twice and both times it was an incredible experience. Unlike some other performers (Cher, I’m looking at you) she does not spend 30 minutes between each song changing costume. The first concert of hers I saw — in London — she spent the full 4 hours playing, breaking guitar strings and engaging her audience. You really get the feeling she loves her fans, which is pretty awesome actually.
Excuse me while I spend the rest of the day trying to finance a trip to London at the end of June.
