The sun is out, the strawberries are in the shops and soon kids will be playing tennis on the streets. Yes, people, it’s Wimbledon time. As it’s a World Cup year, the telly has been full of sweaty males, which is fine if you’re into that kind of thing. For those interested in sweaty females, Wimbo is unmissable.

So, inn a display of shocking shamelessness, let’s check out the talent this year. Lord is there a lot to look at! It seems tennis players are getting hotter as I get older. Hmmm, maybe I’m turning into a dirty old woman. Anyway, here are the top 10 seeds, and not a homely one among them.

Top seed Serena Williams (left), is the reigning champ and is most definitely the one to beat. She loves Wimbledon, having also won in 2002 and 2003. She 29 now, so starting to get a bit long in the tooth, I wonder how much longer she’s going to last?

Second seed to her little sister, Venus Williams is still a force to be reckoned with. She also has legs that go on forever, making her as quick as a whip around the court. And a pleasure to watch.

Joining Venus in this trio of beautiful women are third seed Caroline Wozniacki and fourth seed Jelena Jankovic, who seems to have been playing tennis for donkey’s years.

French Open champion, Francesca Schiavone is the fifth seed. Sorry was that my gaydar pinging or yours?
When getting these images together, I was determined to have off-court pics. Samantha Stosur had two reasons to convince me to make an exception for her. Update - It turns out that whoever those lovely ladies are they may not be Samantha Stosur’s. The pic is so nice though, that I don’t want to change it, so I shall just add Samantha, left.
Seventh seed Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland is as cute as a button, and has just turned 21 for those of you interested. She’s been in the quarter finals for the past two years, but will be gunning to move higher.

Kim Clijsters is another player who seems to have been around since Martina was a girl. Slight exaggeration, but she’s been around the block alright. She’s been a semi-finalist a couple of times, which to be honest is as far as she’ll get this year. She admitted that since having a baby, tennis just doesn’t seem as important.
China’s great tennis hope, Na Li, will definitely be in the mix on the second week too. She’s not a grass-lover though so if she crashed out early don’t be surprised.
Hello Flavia Pennetta! This Italian steam-inducer is, in typical Mediterranean style, a clay-court specialist. Here’s hoping she doesn’t get knocked out too early. Yum!
