I really feel that getting a civil partnership is accepting that you are “less than”, however, I do respect why people would get one. Why not take the few rights it includes?
I just think the whole thing is a disgrace and I really hope people don’t stop fighting for full civil marriage

I didn’t vote. I think we should get Civil Partnered if we want to have the benefit of it. I still think it’s not enough, but there are people who need those rights now. And they should do it.
I’m of the view that I’m going to grab all I’m given, with a big smile and a party.
Then if we get more…..more party!
It’s forcing couples to take part in their own discrimination, and I know if I was in that situation myself I would feel desperately sad and compromised.
Many people have been waiting for so long for some sort of recognition from the Irish State.
Although the civil partnership bill is not sufficient in the level of equality we are looking for, it is a positive step in the right direction. The State can not blatently ignore this side of the community any longer! Its a good sign of changing attitudes.
I kinda agree with Hal: cite=”grab all I’m given, with a big smile and a party.

sounds like alot more fun
I agree with Hal take what you can because you never know when it will be taken away, And why not have a party because the gifts you are given may be the only thing you have left after everything else is taking away .!
