Men we Love: Dan the Man

The Rugby World Cup is nearly upon us! Here are the Irish Boys pictured heading off on their flight to NZ . I love the sport, it’s fascinating to watch, technical and aggressive. Added bonus is the fact that, boy, are those chaps built. Yes, I am quite possibly objectifying them, but not without mentioning how talented they are! One of my favourite players, both from a skill and all sorts of other things that sets a webmaster’s heart a flutter is the lovely Dan Carter. * sigh *

Here’s a shot of my man in action.

Look at the face of concentration, look at ball control * giggle * Look at those shoulders. * fans self * Yes, I am a fully qualified card-carrying member of the sapphic sisterhood, but at a certain time of the month my ovaries have other ideas. They are not as interested in women as they are in large big shoulder rugby players. Hey, I don’t know what their problem is. Something to do with finding a good mate. One that can go out and kill dinner and carry home 3 children on either shoulder.

Considering I am vegetarian the whole killing thing doesn’t appeal to me, unless he arrives home with a tofu curry. I digress. Dan is the man. Considering one of the best, if not the best, number 10′s in the world, he plays for the All Blacks who are heading into this rugby world cup as hot favourites with a very successful Tri Nations display behind them. Ordinarily number 10′s are known for their kicking and running, not so much tackling or off the ball work. See what I did there? I made it sound like I know stuff about ruggers ;) This is all building up to a series of pictures of Dan :) I know, I’m as shallow as a puddle.

Look at the stance

Look at the concentration and intent during the Haka

Look at the….em…. * giggle*

Keep an eye out for the lovely Dan, even if you don’t appreciate him aesthetically, you can appreciate the talent of the man. That said I will of course be wearing green and hoping our boys to themselves proud. First game for Ireland kicks off at the ungodly hour of 7am on Sunday Sept 11th at 7am :O Come on ye boys in Green!
