Annapolis – Maryland became the eighth state in the nation to legalise same-sex marriage on Thursday, just as opponents were ramping up efforts to repeal the new law at the ballot box.

George Clooney has said he will never deny rumours that he might be gay because it would be ‘unfair and unkind’ to the gay community to give someone the opportunity to make it ‘seem like being gay is a bad thing’.

Talking to the Advocate, the actor, now 50, says he believes equality “will soon be the law of the land”.

Zambia says no to gays

Lusaka – Zambia has no plans to amend laws that outlaw homosexuality, a government spokesman said in Lusaka on Thursday, following speculation of a change in response to a recent call from United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

“The laws of the land are very clear on this issue,” Fackson Shamenda told a press briefing. He added that the government did not view gay rights as enshrined in international law.

Lesbian Couple Kicked Out of Restaurant for Kiss:

Social media once again hits hard, this time affecting the District American Kitchen & Wine Bar at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel.

A lesbian couple, celebrating their anniversary in the restaurant, was reportedly kicked out after a kiss and hug. “My partner and I were reminiscing… in one of the tall booths. I had my arm around her neck, and she had her hand around my waist. I gave her a hug for about a minute, pulled myself away to give her a quick kiss, and then we continued talking,” Kenyata White told AZ Central.
