Bitches be Pussy Faggots!

The denizens of Gaelickton do rather enjoy their monthly jaunts to Bitches Be Crazy (as previously chronicled). BBC is Dublin’s queer peripatetic pop-up party that has been bringing banging DJ sets and a cheerful breezy crowd wherever it sets up shop around the city.

When BBC’s organisers recently announced their plans for the upcoming bank holiday weekend, we got extra jittery. This Sunday May 6th, BBC is hosting New York’s alternative queer art party, Pussy Faggot. Blending spoken word, dance, drag, live music, DJs and video art, Pussy Faggot “is a party with serious art chops” (New York Times).

Event organiser, Vickey, says punters can expect “mirror balls and disco lights… An extravaganza of flamboyant fabness. The DJs will make you dance and the acts will make you gasp.”

Pussy Faggot hails from that little hamlet o’er stateside called New York City and is home to “one of the coolest, most uniquely blended crowds around—pussies, faggots, dykes, trannies, you name it” (Time Out New York).

This is sure to be one of the pick’s of the bank holiday and will provide you with plenty of audio/visual treats. Your ears will deee-lite (sorry, couldn’t resist) with DJ sets delivered by Lady Miss Kier (of Deee-lite onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview (‘/outbound/www.youtube.com’);”>‘Groove is in the Heaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh-ahh-ahh-ahh-rt!’ fame), Una Mullally, KAY-Z, VJ SPUTNIK!; and your eyes can feast on live performances from NY and Dublin performers such as Gio Black Peter, Shane Shane, 756″ onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview (‘/outbound/vimeo.com’);”>Colin Self and Dorian Gaye.

Where? The Avenue (formerly Top of the Town), Rutland Place, Parnell Square, Dublin 1.
When? Sunday, May 6th 2012. Doors open at 10pm ‘til the wee hours.
How much? €10 on the door.
Also note that there will be a fully operational bar on the night so no BYOB at BBC this time but according to the organisers there will be cheap-as-chips drinks promos.
