To be honest there are a lot of community friendly pubs in Dublin.

One place I can’t say enough about it TP Smyth’s on Jervis Street. Me and the missus have been going there for a decade or more and it’s as lgbt friendly as you can get.

They even help us put our rainbow flags up around us as we sat there last Pride.

The scene quickly lost its allure for me too. It’s dramatic and the cliques are unreal. I would much rather a pint at Panti or a gay friendly pub and a chat and a laugh, or even a good film, gig, play, than a sweaty packed club full of underage or really overaged people. I do enjoy the odd dance now and then but sure, I can do that at home without someone trying to have a grope glad you enjoyed the article kris!

So I’m not the only one in their twenties who doesnt live for the scene every weekend?? Good to know! I just turned 24 in March and was beginning to feel like a little bit of an outcast there for a while. Don’t get me wrong, having a bopp to Cheryls ‘Call my name’ is definitely something I enjoy once in a while, but not religiously week in week out. Much more of a fan of Panti Bar and its famous Pitchers, or live music/cinema or dare I say even just having a read of a good book on a Friday evening and enjoying a takeaway! Not a fan of the scene and its cliqueness to be honest. Never was, even when I was 19 and first started going out. The novelty wore off for me very quickly. Standing in a beer garden getting bruised by a crowd of drunken people bot my idea of a good time! Article made me lol too, enjoyed it

Grand social -gay friendly pub? Is globe pub lgbt friendly? Please gimme a list of gay friendly pubs.
I’ m terrible with gaydar! Can anyone gives me some clues if the nice girl is gay in any non gay pub?!

Jane Magee: The clubs are quite dark now that you mention it then when the lights come on at closing time there’s nothing but squinty eyes, streaky make up and the horrified faces of people thinking ‘THAT’S what you look like?!’

I actually have fallen asleep at a nightclub because I just couldn’t handle it, I was bored and tipsy. At least in the pubs the chat keeps you awake and the live music or music in general is a bit quieter and you can ‘have the craic’ a bit more.

Click Here: I do love the aul pubs! And for a wee while I did like going along to the Dragon or the George but you’re right they are quite male populated, every time I walk in the first thing I say is ‘Well, isn’t this a sausage fest!’

I have yet to get to Bitches Be Crazy and Flounge but they’re next on my list especially when there’s great music, a predominately female vibe/laid back vibe and great atmosphere

I’ve a bit of an aul’ grá for the pubs meself. I’m another Dubliner here, so the FLounge and Pantibar would be regular haunts. Oh sure, Back In The Day, you couldn’t get me out of The George and/or The Dragon, but I reckon I’ve grown out of them a bit. Plus, they’re a bit for the boys, I find.

If I am going to treat myself to a club night, it’d probably be Bitches Be Crazy for me. Great music, great crowd. (Though they’ve gone a bit quiet since May. I’m starting to worry..!)

At least you are not the only one , I prefer pubs to clubs either. Only one gay pub is pantibar and front lounge is lgbt friendly. I got bored with these pubs. Traditional or laid back pubs are much better. Also I noticed gay pubs/nightclubs are so dark unlike some nice pubs have brighter inside otherwise I would half asleep. In bright enough, you can have nice views of lovely women and to relax ! Dragon and George are nightclubs. So no no. Maybe I m getting old?!
I am sure there are some more gay friendly pubs. But which one? Can anyone refers the lgbt friendly pubs??
