Why Talking to your TD Matters
This just in from our friends at Marriage Equality:
Marriage Equality’s TD Campaign has been going strong for several years now, the campaign hopes to encourage as many people as possible to go directly to their local TD and discuss the issue with them face to face. It is vital that our representatives in government know that the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are being infringed by being denied access to civil marriage.
However, we know that some of our supporters may find this daunting and may not know where to start. Others may even feel that talking to their TDs doesn’t make a difference.
So why not join us on Wednesday 27 June for a panel discussion with TDs Jerry Buttimer and John Lyons, Political Consultant, Ronan Farren and Marriage Equality Volunteer, Paul Dowling who will demystify the whole process of how ordinary citizens can be agents for achieving change, including marriage equality. The event will be chaired by Marriage Equality Director, Moninne Griffith and will be followed by a Q&A.
Where: Café Joly, National Library, Kildare Street, Dublin 2
When: Wednesday, 27th June 2012 at 6:30pm
