Athy Town Council to vote on marriage equality on 19th September!
Kildare-ians! Are you living in Athy? Well if so, you need to get on to your local councillor, STAT!

You may remember that, since June, marriage equality motions have been passed by local councils in (deep breath) Cork City, Omagh, Down, Moyle and Magherafelt, Belfast City, Dublin City and South Dublin.
Well, Athy Town Council’s time to shine is just around the corner, when they take a vote on Wednesday, 19th September, at 5:00pm.
The Leas-Cathaoirleach of Athy Town Council, Cllr Thomas Redmond, will be proposing a motion in favour of marriage equality at the council’s next meeting on that date.
MarriagEquality will be updating events at the meeting live on Twitter, using the hashtag #justloveathy.
Here’s how you can take action!
If you’re based in the Athy Town Council area, you can visit, call or email your local councillors and encourage them to vote in favour of the motion.
A list of councillors and their contact details is available here.
MarriagEquality would love to hear about any feedback you get from your councillors as well – Just contact the MarriagEquality by email (kirsten@marriagequality.ie) or by phone (01-873 4183).
