TENI News: Trans Health Forum
Finally, the HSE seem to believe that there are trans people in Ireland. People who will probably need their services at some stage in their lives. So, in 2013 TENI will work in partnership with the HSE to “develop trans health initiatives and progress the HSE treatment pathway for trans people”. This will include delivery of targeted training to health service clinicians/service providers and ongoing community-based support.
To figure out just what is needed to “progress the HSE treatment pathway for trans people”, TENI are having a Trans Health Forum on 1st October at 6.30pm at Dublin City Council Civic Offices.
This is a key moment to influence and TENI needs to hear from you! You can make a real difference to the future of trans people in this country, so have your say.
Some of the issues on the table will be the current health context and TENI’s work, preliminary results from the Trans Mental Health and Well-being Survey (carried out July-August 2012) and the feedback forum which is guaranteed to be lively. TENI want you to tell them what you think & help us plan what’s next.
After the Trans Health Forum in Dublin, TENI will be circulating an online survey for feedback on this work. Stay tuned for more details!
Can’t make it to Dublin? Don’t you worry. There will be Trans Health meetings in Waterford & Cork, with dates to be confirmed.
