It never rains but it pours
Television programmes are like buses, you are searching for one for what seems like forever and then a bunch come around the corner all at once. I do love Christmas, but why must all the good TV shows go on hiatus? Just when you are off work and can stay up all night watching too much television and eating all the wrong kinds of things there isn’t a single thing on you want.
Well the time for waiting is over, some shows are back after a winter break and some have season premiers coming up so I thought I’d share with you a few I am living for, I mean looking forward to, I have a life – honest!
Bomb Girls
Season 2 of this one started in Canada on Jan 2nd and will have 22 episodes, much more like it, the 6 episodes of season 1 wasn’t nearly enough (take note Lip Service people). The show follows female workers in a munitions factory in World War II but what interests us most is the budding relationship between Betty and Kate. Betty is street smart and takes the naive Kate under her wing in season 1.
Kate is running away from her father who is a bible basher and wants to start a new life for herself with a new name and her own job. The end of season 1 however saw Betty kiss Kate and Kate throw a wobbler and head home to pops, lesbian hearts breaking everywhere. Come on Kate and Betty, get it together!
Once Upon a Time
OK I admit it, my obsession with this show is unhealthy but I am not alone, I gave season 1 and the first half of season 2 to my mother to watch and if she has asked me when it returns once, she has asked me a million times. Fear not mammy, it aired yesterday in the US so we can acquire it soon.
There is so much subtext in this it’s actually funny but who am I kidding, the shows top attraction is the gorgeous Lana Parrilla as the evil queen, the level of hotness makes my TV screen melt every Monday evening, there aren’t words, watch it and you will know!
Lost Girl
Monday nights in my apartment are about to look up as season 3 of Lost Girl also resumed yesterday. Last season saw Bo beat evil yet again but this season sees her becoming the big bad and may I say that between her and the evil queen I am giving bad some serious thought!
I’m sure Dr Lauren will sort her out though (cough), as only she can. Season 2 ended with some serious hotness between the two and lesbians everywhere are praying that will continue. The ladies will be joined this time around by none other than Linda Hamilton and the gorgeous Rachel Skarsten so what’s not to like?
Other shows are back too, Chicago Fire had our lovely lesbian in a car crash before the break and Grey’s Anatomy seems to be warming up to some happy Calzona sooner rather than later. What shows did you miss during the break?
