The 2013 Limerick LGBTQ Pride festival is in its early planning stage and the organising committee want to get everyone engaged with the festival. The Volunteer drive starts with the Big Little Social Mixer event on January 26th at 9pm sharp, in the intimate surrounds of the Piano Bar, upstairs at Bentleys.
The Chairperson of the 2013 festival David Cuddihy, is “Thrilled with the fantastic support shown by local business, and friends of the Limerick LGBTQ community. This year is going to be really special for Limerick Pride as the festival continues to thrive and attract visitors to the city. The energy a nd enthusiasm of Limerick people is second to none and we want the festival to reflect that passion.”
The host for the evening is Nigel Dugdale of Limerick Local Heroes, who will introduce this year’s committee members and various guest speakers who will relate their experience of being involved in the festival. Expect to hear from last year’s Parade Grand Marshall Richard Lynch of I Love Limerick,and many more. There will be fantastic entertainment on offer from Limericks answer to Jessie J, local legend Rachy P, who will perform on the night. Also fresh out of Cork, the sensational girl band Grenade. This duo performs acoustic covers of contemporary pop and recently opened for X-Factor and Celebrity Big Brother star Rylan Clark in Chambers Bar Co rk. You will never hear David Guetta the same way again! There will be a raffle on the night and the opportunity to win two Golden Tickets guaranteeing free access to ALL events during Pride week.
So come along, meet the people behind the scenes, bring your suggestions for events, or sign up as a volunteer. There will be fingerfood and refreshments as well as some rousing music throughout the evening. This is a FREE event and any monies raised on the night will go to Pride.
