After months of reading about executive producer Jennifer Lopez’s TV show which revolves around a multi-ethnic family headed by two ladies the time is finally here, the show has been picked up and scheduled. People complained, one million moms did what they do, but fair play to ABC Family they forged ahead and will air the premier on June 3rd in the states. ABC Family already brings us some lesbian/bi ladies, not least of which would be Emily Fields from Pretty Little Liars, so this is not a network jumping on the bandwagon but rather continuing their inclusivity.
What’s it all about? The hour long show centres around a lesbian couple with three children, both fostered and biological. The couple in question are Stef and Lena Foster, played by Teri Polo and Sherri Saum respectively, one a cop the other a school principal, they are raising their kids happily when they take in a troubled teenage girl, Callie, and things get interesting for them all.
Here’s a little look
Great stuff and for all you JLo fans the lady herself will appear as a guest star. Lopez is not only the executive producer, but also developed the show along with Queer as Folk‘s Peter Paige.
ABC Family’s president Michael Riley says the show
will bring the same depth, heart, close relationships and authenticity that our viewers have come to expect and will pair nicely with our already established pop culture hits
If their track record is anything to go by then this show will be well worth a look.
