Outhouse Library, located on the first floor of Dublin’s LGBT community centre, Outhouse, was set to re-launch on Thursday, 23rd of October. The Library, one of the only solely dedicated public LGBT libraries in Ireland, has been re-vamped with all new stock, a new library system, and free membership for the LGBT community. This year, Dublin Pride have decided to “bar LGBT rights organisations and community groups from speaking at Pride”.
“It has been a tradition central to the history and spirit of Pride that these groups say a few words at the post-parade party about LGBT rights issues.
On one hand social exclusion is a complex and multidimensional process to grasp, in another it is quite simple – people can be marginalised due to certain characteristics, and this means they do not have the opportunity to participate fully in all the areas of social life.
