The American House of Representatives has voted to get rid of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT). The vote, which took place on Wednesday, went 250 to 175 in favour of repealling the ban on out lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people serving in the US military, which has been in place for a ridiculous 17 years.
Last night, our time, things they were achanging over in the States. First up, a judge in federal court ruled that the infamous Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy in the armed forces, is discrimination and should cease immediately. Ten, a couple of hours later, a federal judge declared that The Defense of Marriage Act was also unconstitutional. And all this when the mid-terms are weeks away. So, Prez, whatcha gonna do?
