Facebook and the blogosphere are buzzing about Ellamenope Jones, the upcoming show from Randolf SD. Taking place in the Project Arts Centre from the 26th of November to the 11th of December, the show looks to be a sellout so I’d say get your tickets fast!

Sweeping aside stereotypes
If I wanted to impress people, I could tell them I decided to buy my son a toy broom to help develop his proprioceptive system, which as we all know (cough, cough) is critical for the ability to memorize abstract shapes required to learn to write.
Dead Ringer
Katie Taylor fights China’s Cheng Dong in the final of The Women’s World Boxing Championships tonight. She should win. Having said that, Dong is a tall south-paw with a long reach so it won’t be easy. Dong will also be aware of how close Underwood came in the semi-final and what tactics she used. All in all, tonight’s should be a fascinating final. And you can see it live!
The Real L Word Recaps 8
Tracy is on the phone to her mammy who says that she can’t come to the big 30th birthday. Tracy is broken-hearted. While on the phone, there’s a knock on her door and guess what? It’s mammy!!! YAY!!! Actually it’s a tester-sized mammy, you have to send away for the full-size.
Emmy Night
This year, Glee has been nominated in most Primetime Emmy award categories, but insiders agree that they probably won’t win any of the big ones. Glee is an Emmy anomaly in that it’s youth-led; based in high-school with unknown actors. Most of the acting nominees have been around for years.
Review: Room
Every once in a while a book comes along that leaves you breathless. You want everyone you know to read it just so you can talk about it, assess it, hunt out hidden meanings and recall what moved you most. Emma Donoghue’s latest, Room, is an absolute must. If ever there is such a thing as “essential reading”, this is it.
You Gotta Have Harte
Leanne Harte has been on a journey that would impress Odysseus. From 16 year-old on the cusp of hitting the big time, to dealing with a manager who didn’t do all he should, coming out and then burning out; it’s been one hell of a ride. And she wants to do it all again. Only this time, Leanne is a young woman comfortable in her own skin, in her own abilities and living her own life.
The Real L Word Recap 4
We catch up with the group of lesbians who were, for some reason, chosen to represent us on The Real L Word. We need to sack our PR agency. I know! I’m way overdue, sorry ladies. I will endeavor to catch up asap. It’s just such tripe, that I’m putting these recaps on the world’s longest finger. Ooo-er…
LGBT Diversity: Take me home, country gays
Yesterday saw the launch of a wonderful new inititive, the ‘LGBT Diversity Programme’. A programme that strives to coordinate several LGBT groups around the country and to “facilitate LGBT organisations and activists to collectively mobilise”.
Lesbians – Are we our own worst enemy?
Is the reason most major gay pubs/clubs don’t try to attract lesbians down to the simple fact that we lesbians don’t represent a large enough percentage of the LGBTQ community who get out there and party? Or are lesbians their own worst enemy, or are the clubs just not giving us what we want?
Get some MILK with your CaKe 9th July
Having previously posted on MILK Music Festival, I thought I should tell Gaelick readers to get themselves down to the Academy tomorrow night, 9th July, to get some MILK with their caKe!
The Real L Word Recap 2
So where were we with our sextuplets? Self-obsessed, Sapphic saps with more money and tattoos than sense; oh yeah, there we are.
The Real L Word Recap 1
The Real L Word, it has arrived on the shores of America. And may it stay there. The opening is our introduction to the six LA lesbians who have agreed to be followed around by a crew, showing how they live in their natural habitat. Sapphic Safari if you will.
When Lesbians Attack…
In court today was Sandra Talbot, accused of assaulting her ex-partner. Sounds anything but comical. However, it turns out that Sandra was with friends in The George at a fancy-dress party back in 2007. She was dressed in an inflatable sumo-wrestler outfit. Apparently she went nuts when her ex-partner, Adrienne Martin, tried to wave at a bloke dressed as a Snickers.
Alainn or Appalling: Chely Wright
Who is this woman who is now courageously flying the flag for us in the country music scene? Well, she was born in 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri into a musical family. By 11 Cheyl was singing in local bands, and by the time she was 22, she had signed for Mercury/Polygram.
