On one hand social exclusion is a complex and multidimensional process to grasp, in another it is quite simple – people can be marginalised due to certain characteristics, and this means they do not have the opportunity to participate fully in all the areas of social life.

Friday night saw the inaugural Gay and Lesbian Awards (GALAS) take place in Dublin, hosted by journalist Una Mullalley and television presenter Derek Mooney.
