The dates are: King’s Hall – Belfast on the 16th June, The RDS Arena – Dublin on the 19th June and Thomand Park, Limerick on the 20th June 2010. It is an unexpected move in a country that is still one of the most conservative in Europe and where homosexuality was illegal until 1995.

Fans at games for the WNBA’s Washington Mystics have noticed that it is one of the few major sports teams that does not feature a Kiss Cam during games. Last week, team executives were asked why and they told reporters that they did not want to broadcast two women kissing.

“We got a lot of kids here,” said Sheila Johnson, the Mystics’ managing partner. “We just don’t find it appropriate.”

Works by openly gay writers Colm Toibin and Sarah Waters both feature in the 2009 Man Booker Prize longlist, described by the judging panel’s chairman as “one of the strongest lists in recent memory”.

For those who have become victims of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender domestic violence, it may seem as though getting help is out of reach, but it’s not.

Melissa Caldwell, a graduate student in the College of Social Work, has organized the LGBT Domestic Violence Panel, which will be held on Thursday. Caldwell will speak with Austin Matthews, an Eastern Kentucky University assistant professor, who has done research on intimate partner violence.

It is something which is not studied or talked about enough, I feel, within the community.

It’s an interesting development for Home and Away.

It’s amazing that it’s still such a taboo subject in this day and age because it’s everywhere. The gay population is growing. To me there’s no difference — love’s love. The fact that your partner’s the same sex is no different. The only difference is all that stigma society attaches to it.

The storyline explores all those issues of discrimination and stigma but it also shows it’s a beautiful love story like any other romance on the show.

Any excuse for a woman in uniform, here on the left we have Esther Anderson aka Charlie in her homosexual recruiting uniform, sorry her cop uniform (the 2 uniforms look so similar it’s hard to tell them apart) standing next to what we all know is a well known lesbian prop – the pool table. I mean, it practically screams “Come join me and play!”. Well perhaps that’s just me

According to the Brisbane Times Carey Hart has moved into her Malibu home. “Pink is head over heels for Carey and wants to try it again, but she is proceeding cautiously. They just took a break on the marriage because they couldn’t make it work never seeing each other. She never gave up hope that it would work.” Odd considering that she only recently told Ellen that herself and Carey would never get back together.

Simple really. “I’m not gay so I guess I would not try a relationship with a woman.  I know it’s a bit late but better than never! P!nk played at the Marquee in Cork on the 7^th July. It was brilliant as usual. We walked from the city centre for what seemed like hours to get to the Big Top. We thought we would be able to see it on the horizon but we couldn’t even see it when we joined the queue!

A female DJ was on the decks to warm the place up (trust me, they didn’t need warming up). A fifteen minute break and then “ICE CREAM! ICE CREAM! WE ALL WANT ICE CREAM!”. I couldn’t believe it was a whole 11 months since I last saw this woman, that’s far too long! She didn’t stray from her usual festival set-list which included The Four Non-Blondes’ “What’s Going On” (which is always guaranteed to make everyone hoarse) and the Janis Joplin medley. The best of which was “Piece of My Heart”. (Watch a snippet of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTJP6z1Jt88 ). The performances of “Who Knew” and “The One That Got Away” had an added poignancy when you think of her impending divorce from Carey Hart. Her planned costume changes were scuppered by the airport losing her luggage. I assume her hair gel was in the case also as she left her hat on for the entire performance (I did not approve). She left the tent after bouncing renditions of “You & Your Hand” and “Get the Party Started”, her usual encore.

Filtering out of the venue we overheard some eager fans mention the hotel where P!nk was staying for the night. We happened to be passing by on our way back to our own hotel so we may or may not have nonchalantly loitered outside for twenty minutes (with a few other nonchalant loiterers might I add)! We didn’t see her (probably for the best).

A fabulous weekend, I hope it’s not 11 months until her next visit!
