No Lesbian Scene, Really?
One aspect of the scene has always perplexed me. It is commonplace to hear lesbians on any given night bemoaning the fact that the scene is so male orientated. While this may often be the case, when women’s nights are put on, women don’t seem to go to them, and I for one would like to get a discussion going on this!
Women’s Revival
Revival is on Friday the 5th of November in Copper Alley on Exchange Street (behind the Front Lounge). It’s targeting over 35’s but there won’t be any stringent door policy on age, so all women are welcome. Admission is only a fiver before 11pm.
It’s Time for a Revival
Paula Gilmore is a lady of a certain age. Like myself, she remembers lesbian nights out in JJ Smyth’s, and Stonewall, at Griffith Barracks as well as Oslo in Connolly Station and Libida. Great nights out in venues that varied from great (Oslo) to awful (the Trinity). Nowadays youngsters are only spoiled for choice as to where to go, with a women-only night once a week.
