Pussy Wagon is the women’s night held in The George on the first Friday of every month. Sporting live performances, it has a different vibe from other lesbian nights out there and this fact, coupled with the varied set lists from the various DJs who have played there so far, makes for an excellent night out.

Gaelick highlights
It’s been quite a while since our last round-up of what’s been happening here at Gaelick Towers. (Personally, I blame the hectic madness of Pride and the Civil Partnership Bill.) Let’s remedy that, shall we?
Lesbians – Are we our own worst enemy?
Is the reason most major gay pubs/clubs don’t try to attract lesbians down to the simple fact that we lesbians don’t represent a large enough percentage of the LGBTQ community who get out there and party? Or are lesbians their own worst enemy, or are the clubs just not giving us what we want?

When Lesbians Attack…
In court today was Sandra Talbot, accused of assaulting her ex-partner. Sounds anything but comical. However, it turns out that Sandra was with friends in The George at a fancy-dress party back in 2007. She was dressed in an inflatable sumo-wrestler outfit. Apparently she went nuts when her ex-partner, Adrienne Martin, tried to wave at a bloke dressed as a Snickers.
Space n’ Veda Presents Strictly Come Pole Dancing
Every few months, people filing in the doors of the George on a Wednesday are greeted with the sight of a giant silver pole on the stage. This signals the arrival of another “Strictly Come Pole Dancing” night. And, if the thought of pole-dancing drag queens isn’t enticing enough, their instructor, “Fierce” is totally worth the journey!
Where to Go Out In Dublin This Week
Silly season is well and truly upon us now, so for anyone looking to head out and either dance or chill with their mates in between all the turkey eating and present giving, they will find something they want to do over the next week or so. And trust me, there’s bound to be at least one thing on here that’ll have you running for a train back to the big smoke.
What’s On Guide to Halloween
So, it’s that time of the year again, Halloween, one of the three gay Christmases (Halloween, AMI and Pride)! You’d better start getting those costumes ready, because there is a LOT on, and most of them are fancy dress. With prizes. And everyone loves a good prize. You have absolutely no excuse to go out and have a ball over the Halloween weekend. The only problem will be trying to decide where to go.
The George – Review
Ah, the George. The very name of this bar stirs up so many memories for people. For the older readers, it may cast people’s minds back to the time it was a dedicated “tea room” (it opened in 1985, eight years before decriminalisation). For others, to some weird or random experience a few years back.
